World Environment Day  ( WED ) is a UN Environment-led global event observed on June 5 th  every year, for raising awareness on emerging  environmental issues .   This year India is the proud host of this event and the theme for this year is  “Beat Plastic Pollution”.  So let’s all join together to combat single-use plastic pollution,  explore sustainable alternatives and endeavour to reduce the use of plastic polluting land and water. From Head Of School Series of incidents of late have set me thinking and left certain questions in my mind which needed to be answered. what exactly is safety and security? Could the tragedy have been prevented? No parent should have to endure the loss of a child. There is nothing worse for a parent than losing a child. Injury, risks are different around the world, but all children, whether rich or poor, living in an industrialized nation or living in rural poverty, have the right to grow up healthy and safe. Kids are going to fall, crash, slip and tumble. It’s all part of being a kid, and we wouldn't want it any other way. But there are little things we can all do to ensure that kids avoid the more serious injuries that can lead to disabilities or be fatal and feel protected against threats that are deliberate and intentional. SMART WAYS TO KEEP CHILDREN SAFE! Children, by nature, trust people—even people they don’t know. How can you, as a parent, a teacher, or a caring adult, maintain a child’s trusting innocence while also keeping the child safe? By educating children about safe boundaries, and telling them how to distinguish between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ touches, and how to respond appropriately to bad touches! Start talking to your child about good touch bad touch as early as possible so that they are equipped to understand this sensitive issue.
